Vermund to speak at Physicians for Human Rights’ Southern Regional Advocacy Institute

Vanderbilt's Sten Vermund will speak at the Physicians for Human Rights' Southern Regional Advocacy Institute on Saturday, September 26th, 2009 at Meharry Medical School in Nashville, TN.

Dr. Vermund will speak on the topic of “Making the Link Between Health & Human Rights.”

Other speakers include:

  • Susan A. DeRiemer, Ph.D., Professor of Professional and Medical Education, Meharry Medical College: “Health and Human Rights Education”
  • Sarah Kalloch, Physicians for Human Rights’ Outreach and Constituency Organizing Director: “PHR: Our Role & Our Impact”
  • Some of the region’s leading student activists, presenting on various aspects of the power of health professional students in advocacy, health and human rights education, and global health action.

Hosted by Physicians for Human Rights Student Program, the event will be held from 9:00am until 3:45pm on Saturday, September 26th. Meharry Medical College is located at 1005 Dr. D.B. Todd Jr. Blvd., Nashville, TN 37208.
