Moses Musaazi, PhD, MSc, DIC
- Professor and former head of the department of electrical engineering at Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda.
-
Founder and Managing Director of Technology for Tomorrow (T4T), a think
tank that focuses on developing energy saving products and provides
extensive consulting throughout Uganda and Africa on safe water,
sustainable building, solid waste disposal, education and sanitation.
-
Principal Researcher for a Rockefeller Foundation grant developing,
installing and monitoring appropriate technologies for schools and
colleges.
- Consultant for UNICEF, UN Habitat, Horizon 3000, and numerous NGOs throughout Africa.
-
Developer of the Makapad, an affordable sanitary pad made of 99% local
Ugandan materials for female school students. Girls frequently drop out
of school when they start menstruating because their parents can not
afford to provide them with sanitary pads. Dr. Musaazi has implemented
cost-effective programs in schools where the girls themselves build the
pads from materials he supplies.
